Soft Tissue Mass
Thunderbird Footcare’s foot specialists are here to treat your soft tissue mass. We will closely analyze the lump with imaging tests. After analysis, we will present treatment options, one of which is simply waiting. Giving the soft tissue mass some time might reveal it is not cancerous. However, if the soft tissue mass doesn’t appear as though it is likely to improve on its own, we will consider additional treatment modalities.
Some soft tissue masses on the feet are treated with compression stockings. Tissue masses with blood vessels are less painful and heal that much faster with the use of compression stockings and pain relief medication. However, if the lump is painful or cancerous, the area will be numbed and the mass will be surgically removed. The doctor might recommend a combination of radiation therapy and chemotherapy or one of the two after removing the tumor that was cancerous to prevent it from moving to other tissues. In the end, the treatment modality selected for your soft tissue mass will depend on the amount of time that tissue has been on the foot and the pain’s severity.
